The Technology-Enhanced Learning Center includes 106,000 square feet of smart classrooms, wet and dry labs, offices and ancillary support services. The guiding principle for this facility is "modern instructional delivery." As a centerpiece of technology education, which includes "expanded distance education," the building serves the whole university community, offering cutting-edge technology to faculty and students. Additionally, the facility houses programs in Chemistry, Engineering Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies and Physics along with the campus Writing Center and Department of English and Philosophy. Site location aligns with the Campus Master Plan, but will also be in close proximity to the Humanities, Math and Physics Buildings along with the Library and the Performing Arts Center. The Undergraduate Chemistry Teaching Laboratory is a unique space that combines both research and lecture in the same room for 64 students and was the first chemistry teaching lab of its type when it opened. The research labs were designed with state-of-the-art over-head service carriages to allow for maximum flexibility.
